In order to develop classical culture in the state, it has been decided to organize classical festival under the initiative of Information and Cultural Affairs Department. Moreover, to encourage the writers and poets of the state, literary conferences will be organized in the state in the coming days. Musical instruments will be distributed to folk art centres in the state to develop folk culture Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Dr Pradeep Kumar Chakravarty informed this in a press conference organized at the press conference hall of Secretariat yesterday.
At the press conference, the Secretary also informed that various programmes will be organized in 75 border villages of the state in the month of July-August as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Secretary informed said that journalist of the state who has received an accreditation card died in an accident, the dependent family members will be given a monthly family pension of 5,000 rupees through Information and Cultural Affairs Department.
At present one family is receiving this pension While informing about the success and future plans of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department in the press conference, the Secretary said that conveying information and statements of the state government to the people and giving their opinion is one of the main task of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department Apart from this, the Department is continuously making efforts to revive and develop the cultural heritage of the state
At the press conference, the Secretary of Information and Cultural Affairs Department highlighted the success of various branches of the department and informed that currently the official press release is being published in three languages Bengali, Kokborok and English, The Secretary informed that Information and Cultural Affairs Department has already launched several new policies and guidelines such as Tripura Advertising Policy-2021, Tripura Media Representative Accreditation Guideline-2020, Tripura Journalist Pension Scheme-2021, Tripura Journalist Health Insurance Scheme-2022.
As per Tripura Media Representative Accreditation Guideline- 2020, 363 journalists of the state have been issued accreditation cards so far. According to Tripura Journalist Pension Scheme-2021, the monthly pension of retired journalists has been increased from 1,000 rupees to 10,000 rupees. At present, 5 retired journalists of the state are getting this pension. National Insurance Company Limited has been selected for implementation of Tripura Journalist Health Insurance Scheme-2022, The Secretary informed that under this scheme, 80 percent of the insurance premium will be borne by the state government and 20 percent by the journalist.
Informing about future plans of the department, the Secretary informed that advertising wing of the department will be digitized, revenue will be generated by advertising on digital display boards, 493 cultural programmes will be organized in the financial year 2023-24 and there is a plan to launch artist pension scheme for senior artistes.
The department has also taken initiative to empanel artists in the state. For this purpose, auditions of artists are also going on in the categories of music, dance, drama etc. Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Department Bimbisar Bhattacharya was present in the press conference
