Tripura government is taking various steps to improve quality of sports.
The state government is developing sports infrastructure as well as offering advanced training to players of Tripura so that they can achieve success in various sports disciplines at national level.
Chief Minister Professor Manik Saha said this while inaugurating MBB Cricket Players Hostel at MBB Stadium in Agartala on Sunday.
Tripura Cricket organized this function to felicitate the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister was felicitated by the Tripura Cricket Association on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion.
Chief Minister Manik Saha said that Tripura Cricket Association has proved that anything can be done with good will and a strong determined mindset by building the MBB Cricket Players Hostel.
He said that the current state government is determined to take sports to a special position.
The government is working to build advanced sports infrastructure and training centers in different parts of the state with this aim.
A badminton indoor hall is constructed at Agartala NSRCC complex as well as foam pit is installed for the convenience of gymnasts.
Besides, various sports like boxing, yoga, weightlifting, table tennis have been started in the new building of the NSRCC complex.
The Chief Minister said that with the joint efforts of the state government and sports department, synthetic football turf was installed in Chandrapur of Udaipur sub-division.
Another synthetic football turf will be installed in Khowai district under the Khelo India program.
Further, a swimming pool will be constructed in Panisagar under Khelo India scheme.
