Cooperatives Minister Shukla Charan Noatia attended a review meeting with the president, managing director and members of various Lamps, Packs, Primary Marketing Cooperative Societies in Khowai district on Monday.
He said, “Lamps and packs play an important role in the development of rural economy. Therefore constructive and timely steps should be taken to revive lamps and packs in the state. Necessary steps must be taken to survive in the competitive market.”
The Cooperatives Minister further said that the loan recipients should be encouraged to pay the dues and only then can lamps and packs do better business.
The review meeting was organised with the initiative of the Cooperatives department and was held at the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office in Khowai.
In the review meeting, District Magistrate DK Chakma of Khowai district and Registrar of Cooperatives Department S Mog urged officials and attendees to take proper planning and manage the lamps and packs.
Cooperative Bank General Manager Aparna Debbarma, Cooperative Department Joint Registrar NR Chakraborty discussed various issues.
Deputy Registrar Shanti Ranjan Debbarma, cooperative inspectors and members of various lamps and packs were present in the review meeting.
