Sabroom, Feb 10: Alleging that the state government is exploiting the people, CPIM state committee secretary and Sabroom MLA Jitendra Chowdhury on Monday called upon citizens to unite against what he termed as anti-people policies.
Addressing a public meeting at Betaga Chaumuhani Bazar in Sabroom, Chowdhury sharply criticised the government’s functioning and raised concerns over the situation in the ADC areas.
He demanded greater administrative powers and increased financial allocation for the Autonomous District Council (ADC), stating that development in the tribal areas has been hampered due to inadequate resources and authority.
CPIM Sabroom divisional committee secretary Arun Tripura and former MLA Prabhat Chowdhury also spoke at the meeting, echoing similar concerns and urging people to strengthen the movement for their rights.
The leaders emphasised the need for collective efforts to ensure proper governance and equitable development across the state.
