Agartala, June 19: A crucial two-day meeting of the CPI(M) Tripura State Committee commenced on Thursday with the participation of senior party leaders from the national leadership.
CPI(M) General Secretary M.A. Baby arrived in the state to attend the meeting, which is expected to deliberate on a range of organizational and political issues. Politburo members Mohammad Salim and Sridip Bhattacharya are also taking part in the discussions.
Addressing the media, CPI(M) Tripura State Secretary Jitendra Chaudhury said that the meeting will conduct a detailed review of the results of the recently concluded Assembly elections in five states as well as the ADC elections in Tripura.
He said the party would also formulate its strategy for the upcoming village committee elections and discuss its organizational preparedness at the grassroots level.
The meeting is also expected to focus on the prevailing political situation in the country, including efforts to strengthen the INDIA alliance and consolidate anti-BJP forces. Party leaders are likely to chalk out the roadmap for future movements, struggles, and organizational programmes in the state and across the country.
The CPI(M) leadership considers the meeting significant in shaping the party’s political and organizational direction for the coming days.
