The CPI(M) North District Committee approached the District Magistrate demanding a solution to several public interest problems in North Tripura district. A memorandum was submitted to the District Magistrate in Dharmanagar on Tuesday.

The memorandum mainly highlighted irregularities in the housing scheme, poor condition of roads and various problems in the district hospital. The CPI(M) alleged that there were widespread irregularities in the beneficiary list of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural).

The party has demanded an impartial investigation and re-verification of this list. It also demanded the speedy repair of the poor condition of several important roads including Dharmanagar-Kadamtala and quality control in the construction work.

The memorandum also expressed anger over the poor medical services in the district hospital. Abhijit Dey, on behalf of the party, said, “These demands have been raised in the interest of the common people. We want the administration to take effective steps to resolve these issues quickly.
