Illegal drug trade has reportedly resurfaced in areas adjacent to the tourism building under the jurisdiction of the East Agartala Police Station in the capital city.

Sources alleged that narcotic substances, including brown sugar, ice, and Yaba tablets, are being openly sold in the New Gate area of IGM Hospital and near City Centre.

Residents and locals have expressed concern over the increasing drug-related activities in these busy public areas, raising questions over law and order and the safety of youths in the city.

Demands are also growing for strict police action against those involved in the illegal trade.
