Agartala: Passengers travelling through Airport have allegedly been facing severe harassment from a section of auto-rickshaw drivers operating near the airport premises.
Complaints have surfaced regarding drunken driving, excessive fare collection, and obstruction of online cab bookings.
According to allegations raised by passengers, some auto drivers are reportedly preventing commuters from booking vehicles through online platforms and are allegedly abusing, threatening, and even attempting to assault passengers when they protest against the behaviour.
A victim of the alleged harassment has demanded immediate intervention from the and the state Transport Minister to bring the situation under control and ensure passenger safety at the airport.
Meanwhile, a well-informed group has demanded exemplary punishment against an auto driver accused of severely harassing a passenger who had arrived from Kolkata.
The incident has triggered widespread concern among travellers and local residents over law and order around the airport area.
