The widening of National Road-08, which connects Assam to Agartala, is moving ahead at a faster pace along the stretch between Champaknagar and Khayerpur under the Jirania Sub-Division in Tripura’s West district.
The project, while focused on infrastructure improvement, is also taking into account the need to minimize disruption to the existing structures and livelihoods along the route.
To review and guide the progress, Tourism Minister and Majlishpur MLA Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a high-level meeting today.
Emphasizing the importance of the initiative, he stated, “This widening project is essential for the region’s development, but we must ensure minimal disruption to businesses and institutions along the route.”
The administration is reportedly working to protect the interests of government offices, commercial outlets, and small traders located along the road, balancing development with social and economic concerns.
