Tripura is a miniature version of India. There is a collection of cultural heritage of different communities. Basanta Utsav (Spring festival) means the introduction of a new chapter.
Tripura’s Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma said this while inaugurating the Basanta Utsav organized by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs at the premises of Durgapur High School in Narayan Khamar under Dukli block on Sunday.
He said, “Cultural practices, dance, and songs carry the identity of us and our country. Culture creates bonds of union between people in society”.
Mr. Debbarma also said that a new Tripura is being created. He added that the direction of development of the entire society lies within the culture and thus, culture improvement is necessary.
The state government is serious about cultural practices and cultural development.
Former Deputy CM added that Basanta, Maharas, Laiharba, Khobaichi festivals of Manipuri community have a special contribution in making the culture of Tripura prosperous.
In the speech of the chief guest, MLA Ramprasad Pal said, ” Spring means the season of creation. The spring festival binds everyone together. The honest devotional mentality of the people will advance the development of Tripura”.
