Chandrapur: In a shocking incident on the night of January 25, a family was crushed by a car on the national highway near the capital. The tragic event, initially thought to be an accident, has been alleged by the relatives to be a pre-planned murder.

The deceased, Moumita Shil, a third-year student at BBMC College, was returning home to Ranir Bazar on a scooty with her parents after attending an invitation ceremony in Dashmighat. Around 11 PM, their scooty was hit by a car on the way home. Moumita died on the spot, while her father, Pradeep Shil, also succumbed to serious injuries. Her mother, Sujata Shil, sustained injuries in the incident.

The relatives of the family have alleged that the death of Moumita was not accidental but a premeditated act. They have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. According to their claims, the driver of the car, identified as Mantosh Dev, fled the scene after the incident.

It has also been reported that the police investigation, led by the East Police Station, has not resulted in strong charges against the accused. The relatives have expressed their disappointment, stating that the forwarding report submitted in court lacked crucial details.

The grieving family is now urging authorities to reopen the case and conduct a proper investigation to uncover the truth behind this alleged murder.
