The current state government has not imposed any additional tax burden on the people in the last 6 years. However, in the fiscal year 2022-23, more than 3 thousand crores of tax has been collected in the state in various tax sectors.

The revenue of the state in this sector is increasing day by day due to the government working together with the tax paying people. This was said by Finance Minister Pranjit Singha Roy while inaugurating the 8th GST (Goods and Services Tax) Day celebrations at Pragna Bhaban today.

Businesses who have paid the highest tax in the last financial year are felicitated in the event. The Finance Minister along with other guests presented mementos in their hands. Also, the agents who had the highest deposit amount in the micro savings scheme were also felicitated on the occasion.

On the occasion, Subhrajit Chowdhury, son of an agent of the Small Savings Scheme of Halhuli, was felicitated for securing the first rank in this year’s Tripura Board of Madhya Shiksha Parshad 12th examination.

Inaugurating the event, Finance Minister Pranjit Singha Roy also said that the communication system plays a key role in the development of any place. After 2014, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the connectivity of North Eastern region, including Tripura, has improved tremendously.
