Fisheries has been given priority in the development of rural economy in the state.
The development of rural areas of the state is accelerating as agriculture and agro-allied sectors are given priority. Cooperatives Minister Shuklacharan Noatia said this while inaugurating the state-wide International Fisheries Day celebrations at Mukut Auditorium in Shantirbazar today.
He said on the occasion that various programs have been taken to increase fish production in the state. These programs are playing a role in strengthening the economy of the state besides making fishermen self-reliant.
