Govt is working with special importance to promote quality education in the remote areas of the state: Chief Minister

Expansion of quality education in the state is a priority area of the government. The government is working with special importance to spread quality education even in remote areas. Along with this, the government has given priority to building advanced infrastructure in the field of education Chief Minister Prof. (Dr) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the newly constructed two-storey building of Chhailengta English Medium IIS School in Longtharai valley sub-division on September 26, 2023.

In the inauguration programme, the Chief Minister said that in the development of the state, the government has given utmost importance to the development of health, agriculture and agriculture related matters besides education.

The government has taken various steps to develop the education sector 125 schools in the state are being brought under Vidyajyoti schools. Already 100 schools have been made Vidyajyoti school 25 more schools will be brought under Vidyajyoti school scheme. Chhailengra English medium H.S school has also been converted into Vidyajyoti School. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government has launched the new National Education Policy to make the education system more inclusive. The new National Education Policy is also being implemented in our state This new National Education Policy will make the education system modern in coming days, Moreover, it will also play a helpful role in the development of students’ skills

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha mentioned the programmes adopted for the development of the education sector in the state and said that NIPUN Tripura and Mission Mukul are bringing many changes in the field of education. For the development of education sector, the budget for the current financial year has proposed to set up one model school in each block under the PM SHRI scheme. 50 crores have been allocated in the budget for this purpose.

Moreover, Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana will be launched from the current financial year. In this scheme, free scooty will be given to the first 100 meritorious students from HS examination. It has been decided to provide special scholarship in the budget of the current financial year for Divyangjan students. The Chief Minister said that the creation of teaching learning material is bringing a new direction in the education system of the state. 400 government schools in the state will be modernized under PM SHRI and Vidyajyoti scheme.

Two thousand crore rupees will be spent in the next 5 years for the development of education infrastructure in the state. The state government has taken various steps to encourage girl students in education. Different types of fees have been waived off for female students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in government colleges and universities In the fiscal year 2022-23, the state government has distributed 44,600 bicycles among girl students.

This scheme will continue in the current financial year as well, 9 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget for this scheme Smart classes have been introduced in 752 schools of the state to extend quality education Information Competition Technology Project has been launched in 604 schools. Another 294 schools are in the process of implementing this scheme Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given special importance to the development of North Eastern region including Tripura.

The Act East Policy took various steps in the development of North Eastern states. As a result, infrastructure development in tribal areas and improvement of socio-economic standards of the people has improved significantly. Dhalai district is being given special priority for development as an Aspirational district

MLA Shambhulal Chakma and District Magistrate of Dhalai district Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal spoke among others. Chairman of Ambassa BAC Parimal Debbarma, Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai and others were present on the occasion MDC Sanjay Das presided over the programme. District Education Officer Jatan Kumar Debbarma delivered the welcome address.

The two-storey building of Chhailengta English medium H.S school has been constructed with the financial support from NITI Aayog of the Government of India at a cost 2 crore 80 lakh rupees.
