Belonia, July 1: Former Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik hoisted a highmast national flag at a grand and joyful ceremony held at B.K.I. Corner in Belonia. She formally unfurled the tricolour by pressing an electric button, dedicating it to the people of the region.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of South Tripura Zilla Parishad President Deepak Dutta, eminent social worker Sayantan Dutta, and other distinguished guests. The event was presided over by Bilonia Pur Parishad Chairperson Nikhil Chandra Gop, while the welcome address was delivered by Debashis Das, Sub-Divisional Administrator of Belonia.
Addressing the gathering, Pratima Bhowmik said that the tricolour is a symbol of India’s freedom, valour, and sacrifice. She added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is working towards the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, with the goal of building a prosperous India by 2047.
The event concluded with patriotic fervour and enthusiastic participation from the local residents.
