Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a Hindu priest and a religious minority leader in Bangladesh, was arrested in Dhaka amid tensions over minority rights in the country that has seen widespread political violence since former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ouster.
Krishna Das Brahmachari, is a Hindu leader and member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
Bangladesh Hindus took to the streets against the protest. Protesters were attacked by unknown people.
The attack reportedly took place in Dhaka. At least 20 demonstrators were injured. Three of them are reported to be in critical condition.
