The three-day Khelo India University Games, 2023 yoga competition begins in the state. The competition will be held in the indoor hall of Netaji Subhash Regional Coaching Center (NSRCC), Agartala, which will continue till February 20.
The Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Dr. Pradeep Kumar Chakraborty gave this news in a press conference organized at the Secretariat on Saturday.
He said, “Khelo India University Games is a multi-sports event in which players from different universities of the country participate in various events. The fourth edition of Khelo India University Games will be organized in different states of Ashtalakshi i.e. North Eastern region.”
Chakraborty added, “The Khelo India University Games will feature 20 events including Athletics, Rugby, Basketball, Volleyball, Satar, Badminton, Hockey, Fencing, Kabaddi, Football, Tennis, Malkhamb, Judo, Table Tennis, Boxing, Shooting, Weightlifting, Archery, Wrestling, Yoga. Most of these events will be contested in Assam.”
He further said, “Yoga competitions will be held in Tripura. The state government’s Department of Youth Affairs and Sports and Tripura University will jointly organize the competition.”
