Agartala, June 21: Acting on a tip-off, the police recovered a large quantity of narcotics during a raid at the East Champamura Logistics Park, adjacent to the Khayerpur Bypass. The operation was carried out jointly by the Officer-in-Charge of Bojangnagar Police Station and the personnel of Khayerpur Outpost.

According to police sources, a vehicle bearing registration number TR01 AV1591 was intercepted inside the logistics park premises. During a thorough search, the police recovered 1,350 bottles of syrup, packed in nine packets kept inside three trunks. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the spot.

The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of NCC Police Station informed the media that the estimated black market value of the seized syrup could be around 1.3 lakh. He also mentioned that preliminary investigation suggests the involvement of an organized drug trafficking racket in the incident.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the consignment.
