Main accused in the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, dies in a police encounter during crime scene reconstruction.

Police say the accused allegedly snatched a service firearm, opened fire and attempted to flee, following which he was critically injured in the exchange of fire and was declared dead at Baruipur Subdivisional Hospital.

Three other accused remain in police custody.
