Dhalai River Water Level Rises; Kamalpur Administration Issues Alert

Kamalpur, July 9: Continuous heavy rainfall has led to a steady rise in the water level of the Dhalai River near Kamalpur town, raising concerns of possible flooding in nearby low-lying areas as the river approaches the danger level.

The subdivision administration is closely monitoring the situation and has intensified preparedness to tackle any emergency.

Kamalpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate  has appealed to residents, particularly those living along the riverbanks and in low-lying areas, to remain alert and strictly follow official advisories.

He urged people not to venture into the river unnecessarily, ensure that children do not enter the river, and cooperate with the administration.

The administration stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to respond to any emergency. If the water level continues to rise, relief and rescue operations will be launched immediately in affected areas.

The administration has also appealed to the public not to pay heed to rumours and to rely only on official information and government advisories.
