Shantirbazar, Aug 20: A 45-year-old man, identified as Lakshman Tripura, died after being electrocuted in Gardhang Ashwini Tripura Para under Shantirbazar subdivision.

According to the victim’s family, Lakshman’s life could have been saved if there been proper roads and timely medical treatment in the area. They alleged that despite repeated appeals for road repairs, neither the administration nor local leadership took any steps.

Following the incident, family members claimed they repeatedly contacted the police for a vehicle but received no response. Reportedly, it took over 30 minutes for the fire brigade to reach the spot. By the time Lakshman was taken for medical help, he had succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased is survived by his wife and three children. The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the locality.
