Kailashahar, July 9: The water level of the Manu River at Kailashahar has risen significantly following continuous rainfall, crossing the danger level and approaching the extreme danger mark.
According to the Water Resources Sub-Division-II, Kailashahar, the river’s water level was recorded at 24.40 metres at 8:00 am on Thursday.
The officially notified river levels are:
- Warning Level: 22.10 metres
- Critical Level: 23.50 metres
- Danger Level: 24.00 metres
- Extreme Danger Level: 24.50 metres
With the river flowing 0.40 metres above the danger level and only 0.10 metres below the extreme danger level, authorities are closely monitoring the situation. Residents living in low-lying and riverbank areas have been advised to remain alert as further rainfall could push the river above the extreme danger mark, increasing the risk of flooding.
