Agartala, Dec 8: A press conference was organized in the capital on Sunday by the Community Health Guide’s Employee Unity Forum, highlighting the ongoing grievances of retrenched workers across the state.
Representatives of the Employees’ Unity Forum appealed to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to take immediate steps to reinstate the terminated employees. They also demanded employment security and financial assistance of ₹10 lakh for each affected worker.
According to the Forum, around 730 Community Health Guide workers have been retrenched statewide. They informed that service discontinuation began from the first day of this month, leaving many families in severe distress.
Forum members urged the government to consider the humanitarian aspect of the issue and take necessary action at the earliest.
