Mayor Dipak Majumder presents Rs. 142.10 crore Vote-on-Accounts

On Monday, the Agartala Municipal Corporation unveiled their interim budget for the next four months of this year in the AMC’s conference hall.

Mayor Dipak Majumder presided over the presentation, and it was unanimously approved on the same day.

Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, along with other officials including corporators of AMC, Councillors, and Commissioner Shailesh Kumar Yadav were present.

Mayor Dipak Majumdar said that the budget presented on Monday was aimed at providing equitable civic services to the residents of Agartala Municipal Corporation.

He added that the budget presented amounted to Rs 142 crore, which unfortunately is a deficit budget of Rs 21 crores.

The Mayor further said, “The budget session is scheduled for April 26, and is expected to be passed without opposition on that day.

However, the corporation would commence work with the available funds even before the budget session.”

He added that this decision was made by the regulatory authorities to prevent any disruption to ongoing development projects.
The mayor also said, “The implementation of new plans to maintain cleanliness and reduce traffic in Agartala city. The complete budget will be presented after four months and will address the issues faced by citizens from all sections of society.”
