MBB University was established in 2015 and started its academic activities from 2016 with four Academic Departments-English, Library & Information Science, Mathematics and Political Science.

Later on, the University also introduced M.A. in History (Self finance mode), IMD Program in Chemistry and Commerce and PhD Program.

Immediately after fulfilling the eligibility criteria for National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation, MBB University initiated for First Cycle NAAC accreditation.

After going through all the procedures, the NAAC approved the Self Study Report (SSR) of MBB University for its assessment and accreditation. Accordingly, a Five Member NAAC Peer Team headed by Prof. Sailesh Zala, former Vice Chancellor of M.K Bhavnagar University, Gujarat visited MBB University during September 10-12, 2024 for NAAC assessment.

The NAAC Peer Team expressed its satisfaction in the Exit meeting held on September 12, 2024 and submitted its report to the NAAC Office, Bangalore. The NAAC office published its assessment report on MBB University on September 21, 2024 where MBB University obtained B Grade.

Prof. Satyadeo Podder, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor expressed his satisfaction for obtaining B Grade with very limited resources and infrastructure. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor has conveyed his sincere thanks to the State Government, the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tripura, all the employees of MBB University and all other stakeholders for this performance.
