One killed in Tripura; Police say personal enmity; one arrested

A person was detained on the charge of killing his neighbour in Khowai district on Sunday due to personal enmity.

Dilip Shukla Das was left seriously injured.
After receiving the news, Kalyanpur police responded immediately and taken the victim to Khowai hospital.

Then, the injured was referred to GBP hospital where he died on the same night during treatment due severe to injuries. The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.

Meanwhile, police stopped the CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhury, Pabitra Kar, Narayan Kar, and a huge group of CPIM workers when they tried to take the deceased’s body to the CPIM state headquarters on Sunday morning.

When police stopped the CPIM leaders and workers near Heritage Park, and disallowed them to take the body, they protested the incident and staged blockade on the road along with the body.

Police said that based on prima facie, the case is of ‘personal enmity’ and the main accused was already arrested.

Police also informed that a case was lodged against six accused persons and raids are going on to arrest the other accused persons.
