Narcotics are entering Tripura from outside the state using the railways. Allegedly, the criminals continue to do such illegal activities.
Although the success of the railway police is not so much in this regard, Agartala GRP was able to seize a large quantity of narcotic cough syrup from a coach of the Kanchanjunga Express on Sunday.
OC Sanjit Sen said that ten cartons of phencidil were recovered, which contain around a total of 1595 bottles.
He added that this operation was conducted on the orders of GRP Superintendent of Police.
A large quantity of drug-like cough syrups was recovered after searching the drug-like Phencidil packed in 5 cloth bags.
A young man named Prasenjit Debnath has been arrested during the operation.
The OC said that the GRP has taken up a specific case and started the investigation.
