Pijush Kanti Biswas, former president of Tripura Congress, who recently joined Trinamool Congress was appointed as the new state president of Trinamool Congress on Sunday.
While addressing the media, Pijush Kanti Biswas said, I offer my sincere gratitude to Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee for appointing me as the party’s state president. I will try my level best to live up to their expectations.
The newly appointed Tripura TMC chief further said that Trinamool Congress will contest in the 2023 assembly elections. Notably, in August last year. Pijus Kanti Biswas, a senior advocate at the Tripura high court resigned as Tripura Congress president.
He joined the Tripura TMC on December 7 this year, in presence of the TMC Supremo, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
Pijush Kanti Biswas said that he had a meeting with Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee where they discussed the election strategy of TMC for assembly elections in Tripura.
He added that TMC’s supreme leaders have assured him to provide all kinds of support to unseat BJP government in Tripura.
