Belonia, June 5:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid special emphasis on promoting renewable energy, particularly solar power, across the country. In line with this vision, the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has been launched nationwide to encourage households to generate electricity through solar energy.

As part of the state’s efforts to implement this scheme effectively, camps are being organized in various subdivisions to spread awareness and ensure that the benefits reach every household. This was stated by Power Minister Ratanlal Nath while inaugurating a PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana camp at Rajnagar Vivekananda Craft Center in the Belonia subdivision today.

Speaking on the occasion, the Power Minister highlighted the importance of electricity in modern life and reiterated the Prime Minister’s commitment to renewable energy for a sustainable future. He informed that the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to enable households to produce their own electricity using solar energy, thereby reducing electricity bills and allowing consumers to earn additional income by supplying surplus power to the grid.

“This initiative will be especially beneficial for economically weaker sections,” the Minister said, noting that the scheme has already seen encouraging participation within the state. Many consumers have successfully installed solar plants at their homes under the scheme and have reduced their electricity bills to zero. Additionally, several users are now earning extra income by supplying excess electricity to the corporation through on-grid connections.
