TIPRA Motha Chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma met Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Civil Aviation on Monday and demanded announcement in Kokborok language at Maharaja BirBikram Airport in Agartala.

Pradyot has written a letter to the Union Minister Scindia regarding this.

The letter states that Kokborok is the state language of Tripura, but it is not given due importance unfortunately.

To promote the culture and traditions of Tripura, promoting its language is important
The letter further stated, “Therefore, I request you to kindly ensure that all the announcements should be done in the indigenous language Kokborok along with Hindi, English and Bengali at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala”.

Pradyot hoped that the civil aviation minister will implement announcements in Kokborok along with other languages at Agartala Airport and fulfill the demands of Tripura’s indigenous people.
