The state government is working on a target of doubling the income of farmers by 2022-23 along with increasing the production of agricultural products.
The State Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has taken all-out initiatives to achieve this goal with the active cooperation of the Central and State Governments.
Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Apoorba Roy said this in a press conference at the Secretariat today.
He said that till now the number of farmers registered under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is 2 lakh 46 thousand 265 people.
Others are also in the process of inclusion in this scheme. 499 crores 71 lakhs have been given to the beneficiary farmers in the state so far.
In the press conference, the secretary said that the present state government has tried to give loans to all farmers, bargadars, share farmers through Kisan credit cards.
