Agartala, Tripura: Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Devavarman has expressed strong displeasure over Tripura cricket team captain Mani Shankar Murasingh not being selected for the Indian Premier League (IPL). He said that despite consistent performances, talented cricketers from Tripura continue to be ignored.
Pradyot stated that there is no shortage of cricketing talent in the state, but players are repeatedly denied opportunities at the national level.
Calling Mani Shankar Murasingh’s exclusion from the IPL unfortunate, he questioned the selection process and asked, “Why can’t we showcase our own talents?”
He further emphasized the need to ensure equal opportunities for players from the Northeast, adding that fair representation is essential for the growth of sports and to motivate young talents from the region.
