A serious security lapse occurred during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Tripura Sundari temple on Monday, prompting police to initiate an investigation.
The incident came to light after a video surfaced showing local BJP MLA Abhishek Debroy breaking through the security barricades with a group of people.
In the footage, Debroy can also be heard raising his voice at police officials who attempted to restrain him.
Following the episode, the police
launched a probe into the matter. The breach has triggered strong criticism and caused embarrassment for the state administration.
