Agartala, Tuesday: Tension gripped Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) College on Tuesday as students staged a prolonged protest opposing the summoning of an ABVP leader accused of a ragging incident.

The agitating students locked the principal’s office and reportedly disconnected the electricity supply to the administrative section of the college. The situation triggered unrest across the entire college campus.

Upon receiving information, police personnel rushed to the spot and attempted to bring the situation under control.

The protesters alleged that the accused student was being shielded and asserted that they would continue their agitation if strict and exemplary action is not taken against the accused involved in the ragging case.
