In South Tripura, members of the Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) — the youth wing of Tipra Motha, an ally of the ruling BJP — organized a significant protest on Monday at Bankar Market, close to the Bangladesh border.

The demonstration was held against the construction of a high-rise embankment by Bangladesh along the Muhari river near the zero line.

Local residents and protesters voiced fears that the embankment could trigger flooding on the Indian side, particularly during the monsoon season. Demonstrators, carrying Indian flags and party banners, attempted to march toward the embankment site but were stopped by security forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), to prevent potential tensions in the sensitive border area.
