Agartala, Sunday: The Tripura Indigenous Students Federation (TISF) took to the streets on Sunday evening to protest the brutal murder of Tripura student Angel Chakma in Dehradun. As a mark of protest and solidarity, the organization organized a candlelight procession in Agartala.
The procession began from Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where students and supporters gathered carrying candles and placards. Marching through various streets of the city, the protesters raised slogans demanding justice for Angel Chakma.
The demonstrators called for a swift and transparent investigation into the murder case and urged the authorities to ensure strict punishment for those responsible. Leaders of the organization stated that such incidents have created a sense of fear among students studying outside the state and emphasized the need for immediate action to ensure their safety.
