Football enthusiasts in Agartala witnessed a thrilling encounter reminiscent of the East Bengal–Mohun Bagan derby in the Durand Cup quarter-finals, as the legends of both clubs clashed at the Umakanta Mini Stadium on Sunday.

The exhibition match kept fans on the edge of their seats. Just when it seemed Mohun Bagan’s veterans would clinch victory with a 1-0 lead from a penalty, East Bengal’s formers turned the game around. In a dramatic sudden-death finish, the Red-Yellows secured victory, once again proving their supremacy.

Alvito D’Cunha played a pivotal role and was adjudged the best player of the match. However, East Bengal goalkeeper Subhashish Choudhury—who made crucial saves—and Soumik Dey, who netted the winning goal.
