Rotary Club of Agartala City honours Lal Bahadur Club for 34 years of dedicated free healthcare service to the community

Agartala, Wednesday:
The Rotary Club of Agartala City on Wednesday felicitated the Lal Bahadur Club in recognition of its long-standing contribution to public healthcare. The honour was conferred at a ceremony held at Muktadhara.

The award was received by Lal Bahadur Club president Pranab Sarkar along with Dr. Mangal Debbarma. Notably, the Lal Bahadur Club has been running a free primary health clinic for the past 34 years, providing healthcare services to patients from various parts of the state at no cost.

The clinic was established around 34 years ago by the late Padma Shri awardee Dr. Rathin Dutta. Since then, local doctors and club members have jointly managed the clinic, which operates every Sunday and offers free medical services. Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers has been extending financial support for the smooth functioning of the clinic.

Despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the clinic continued its services uninterrupted. Apart from regular operations, the Lal Bahadur Club has also been organizing health check-up camps in different areas of the state.

Expressing his appreciation, Lal Bahadur Club president Pranab Sarkar thanked the Rotary Club of Agartala City for recognising the club’s dedicated service to the community.
