Pune, May 4:
After the trailblazing achievements of Dipa Karmakar, Tripura has found its new gymnastics star in Shreeparna Dey, who made the state proud by winning four gold medals at the Artistic Gymnastics National Championship held in Pune.
Shreeparna delivered a stellar all-around performance, claiming her first gold with a total score of 42.40 points. Her impressive routines in the Vaulting Table (11.55), Uneven Bars (8.30), Balancing Beam (11.35), and Floor Exercise (11.20) highlighted her skill, precision, and calm demeanor under competitive pressure.
The young gymnast’s winning streak continued in Saturday’s Apparatus Finals, where she dazzled spectators and judges alike with her flawless routines. Shreeparna bagged three more gold medals in the Vaulting Table, Balancing Beam, and Floor Exercise categories, scoring 11.800, 11.033, and 10.300 points respectively. Although she narrowly missed a podium finish in the Uneven Bars event, her cumulative achievement of four gold medals remains a remarkable feat for both herself and the state.
Shreeparna’s triumph has not only added a fresh chapter to Tripura’s gymnastics legacy but has also inspired hopes of future national and international glory.
