Following the grave concerns caused by the Balasore train tragedy, passengers of the Sikandrabad-Agartala Express disembarked at the Berhampur railway station in Odisha on Tuesday after noticing smoke inside an air-conditioned coach.
It has been reported that the smoke originated from the electrical components of the B5 AC coach.
Upon detecting the issue, passengers promptly exited the train and requested a replacement coach.
Currently, the train remains stationary at the Berhampur station. According to a statement by the East Coast Railway (ECoR), “A minor electrical problem occurred in coach B-5 of Train No. 07030 Secunderabad-Agartala Express near Berhampur station. The railway staff on duty promptly addressed the issue and resolved it.”
This incident took place just a few days within a tragic accident near the Bahanaga Bazar railway station involving the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express, the Howrah-bound SMVP-Howrah Superfast Express, and a goods train, which occurred on June 2.
