State Level ST Merit Award: Distribution of Merit Award to ST Meritorious students

Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura has taken up various initiatives for educational development of the ST students of the state.

As a part of these initiatives, department has organized a formal ceremony on distribution of Merit Award to ST Meritorious students on 27th December, 2021 at Nuai Auditorium Hall, Khumulwng, TTAADC, Jirania.

Mevar Kumar Jamatia, Minister, Tribal Welfare and Fisheries Department, Govt. of Tripura has inaugurated the State Level Programme.

Dhirendra Debbarma, MLA, Mandwi was the Guest of Honor. Besides, Ganesh Debbarma, MDC, TTAADC & C.K. Jamatia, CEO, TTAADC were also remain present as Special Guest.

The main objective of holding this State Level Programme is to give recognition to Meritorious Scheduled Tribe students who had secured 60 % and more in aggregate by awarding them cash through individual bank account which will play a crucial role to motivate & encourage them to boost interest towards their study in order to maintain good marks in their academic career in future.

During this Academic Year i.e. 2021-22, as the Secondary Education Department, Govt. of Tripura has promoted all the School students to next higher class due to COVID-19 Pandemic, Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura has also decided to provide Merit Award to all ST School students of Class-VI to XII.

As on date, 26548 nos. ST students have been recorded for availing the financial assistance under this Scheme during the year 2021-22.
