Bishramganj, July 22 – Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma on Monday issued a stern warning to forest smugglers during a review meeting of the JICA project held in Bishramganj.
He expressed serious concern over the increasing illegal activities in the Sipahijala district, calling it a “smuggling corridor” for forest resources.
The minister emphasized that strict action would be taken against the forest mafia to curb the ongoing exploitation of natural resources.
“The government will not tolerate any form of forest smuggling. Strong measures are being planned to protect our environment,” he stated.
