A two-day district-wide Kishori Utkarsha Manch was recently concluded at Unakoti Kalakshetra in Kailashahar.

On this occasion, talented students of Unakoti district were felicitated in Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan.

Inaugurating this program, Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education Tinku Roy said, ” Alongside education, sports, cultural activities etc., there is a need for this type of program to make girls skilled in various fields.

Both boys and girls have an equal role to play in building a beautiful society.”
He also said that parents have to play an important role in the overall development of girls.

Apart from this, Unakoti Zilla Parishad President Amalendu Das spoke on the occasion.

Sajal Biswas, District Inspector of Social Welfare and Social Education Department Vidyasagar Debbarma was present.

Kailashahar Municipal Council’s Chairperson Chapala Debroy presided over the event.
District Education Officer Prashant Kilikder gave the inaugural speech.

On the occasion, 10 girls who obtained the highest marks in secondary and 10 girls who obtained the highest marks in higher secondary of Unakoti district were awarded.
Besides, 1 female student who obtained the highest marks in the secondary school and 1 female student who obtained the highest marks in the high school were awarded 5 thousand rupees each.

On the occasion, a cheque of Rs.10,000 was handed over to each Head Teacher of following schools along with the certificate.
