The Indian Air Force brought back 335 Indians stranded in Sri Lanka after Cyclone Detwa under Operation Sagar Bandhu.
IAF’s IL-76 and C-130J aircraft, which had delivered relief materials, evacuated the passengers from Colombo to Thiruvananthapuram.
NORKA Roots arranged special buses for their onward travel.
Defence sources said MI-17V helicopters and Garud commandos were deployed for rescue operations, which will continue today.
