The National Human Rights Commission takes cognisance of the murder of a Tripura student, Angel Chakma, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
A bench presided over by Member of NHRC Priyank Kanoongo has issued a notice to the State Government, calling for a detailed report on the action taken in the matter so far.
Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also condemned the murder of AngelChakma. The minister said that the incident is unfortunate and extremely painful.
