Divyangjans are not ought to be neglected. They must be encouraged and feel that they are also an important part of the society, enunciated Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Manoj Kanti Deb at Dhalai district-level walking aids distribution programme held as a part of Prati Ghare Sushason program at the conference hall of Salema Panchayat Samiti yesterday. He said, the state government is working to fulfill basic needs of the people.
Developmental works in the state are being implemented on the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, the government is committed towards public welfare. In this regard, the social pension has been made 2 thousand rupees.
MLA Swapna Das Pal said, assisting Divyangjans with walking aids is one of the duties of a responsible government. The government is working to provide government services till the last person in the state. And this will be ensured through Prati Ghare Sushason program. Walking aids were distributed to 12 Divyangjans of the district in the programme.
Under this program, assistance will be provided to total 39 Divyangjans of the district. Other dignitaries present there were Salema BAC Chairman Bimal Debbarma, Singinala Panchayat Pradhan Sunil Das, Salema Block BDO Subrata Das, Social Welfare & Social Education department Dhalai District Official Sankha Shubhra Sen and CDPO Debabrata Mishra. The programme was presided over by Chairman of Salema Panchayat Samiti Sujit Biswas. Health check ups were done for senior citizens in the programme.
