Pranoyjit Namasudra, a worker and supporter of the TIPRA Motha party was killed at Bamancherra under Kamalpur Police Station in Dhalai district on Wednesday evening.
Police said that few unidentified miscreants dragged him out of his four-wheeler and assaulted while he was returning home.
A local police team rushed to the spot after getting the information and took him to a nearby private hospital and then to the District hospital at Kulai.
44 year aged Pranoyjit Namasudra was declared ‘brought dead’.
The AIG of police further said that the victim’s wife accused six persons while registering an FIR regarding the case.
He added that police suspects monetary transactions and money disputes are probable reasons behind the death of the TIPRA Motha supporter, as no political angle has been found yet..
AIG Chowdhury added that four among the accused were arrested as well as produced in a local court for police custody.
TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma expressed grief for the death of Pranajit Namasudhra through social media and said violence is the worst side of politics.
