Tripura’s Finance, Planning, and Coordination Minister, Pranajit Singha Roy announced that the budget session of the Tripura assembly is scheduled to commence on July 7, when the complete budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 will be presented.

Finance Minister asserted that the fiscal position of the state is stable, with sufficient funds allocated for committed expenses and significant road and infrastructure projects.
He claimed that there are no major financial shortages in any sector.

On the other hand, the 15th Finance Commission, led by N.K. Singh, previously recommended that northeastern states should focus on enhancing their resources and revenue to strengthen their fiscal position.
