Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha submitted his resignation from the post of Rajya Sabha on Monday.
Dr Saha submitted his resignation letter to the Chairman of Rajya Sabha and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu as a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Earlier Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha did not take oath as a MLA.
However, two other newly elected BJP legislators, Malina Debnath and Swapna Das Paul and the Congress legislator Sudip Roy Barman took oath, administered by the Assembly Speaker.
Dr. Saha was elected to the Rajya Sabha in April as the first ever BJP nominee to be elevated to the Upper House of Parliament from Tripura.
He became Tripura’s Chief Minister a day after his predecessor, Biplab Kumar Deb, resigned on May 14.
Dr. Saha won from the 8-Town Bardowali constituency in the by-election held on June 23 and became an MLA on 26 when the results declared.
According to the constitutional provisions, an elected member has to take oath within 14 days from the day of the declaration of the result.
