Tripura court awards life imprisonment 

The Ld. District & Session Judge, Dhalai District, Ambassa, on 05/09/2023 has convicted and sentenced an accused person namely Sefaljoy Tripura (23) S/o Shri Chayamani Tripuraof Desharai Para, PS – Rashiyabari. Dhalai in connection with case No. ST(T-1) 06/2020 arising out of Rashiyabari PS Case No. 13/20219 dated 22/09/2019 U/S 302/326 IPC to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for life for the commission of offence punishable U/S 302 IPC and to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for life for the commission of offence punishable U/S 326 IPC.

The fact of the incident is that the accused, Sefaljoy Tripura had a quarrel with three minor children (two girls and one boy). Suddenly, the accused attacked all of them with a dao, due to which all of them received severe bleeding injuries on their bodies. Among the injured children, one girl succumbed to her injuries on the spot, and the other two children managed to escape from the PO and inform the villagers of the matter.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Investigating Officer SI Suleman Reang of Rashiyabari PS (now Inspector posted in North Tripura District) meticulously investigated the case and finally it was charge sheeted which subsequently ended in conviction.
